It Comes Down to These Five Things

Peter Ianace, VitalTech’s Chief Operation Officer, has spent most of his career leading high-growth teams at some of the country’s top financial institutions. However, many of his key learnings about what it takes to truly lead an organization didn’t come along until Peter joined the c-suite at VitalTech.

VitalTech’s COO recently spoke with Authority Magazine, a publication sharing lessons from interesting business leaders across all industries, about what he wishes he knew before becoming a c-suite executive. Here is what Peter had to share:

What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Began Leading From the C-Suite?”

  1. Don’t talk until you listen and learn: We have all opened our mouths prematurely. You can lose credibility before you have it, if you speak because you like to hear the sound of your own voice.”
  2. Ask for advice: People are flattered when you ask for their help. It goes a long way.”
  3. Read: The more you know, the better you will be.”
  4. Raise more money than you think you need: Unfortunately, capital constraints will always lead to short sightedness.”
  5. Be genuine: People like to work with and do business with people they like. Kill them with kindness.”
